Satellite Heart

'Satellite Heart' Anya Marina

Anya Marina | MySpace Video

So, remember back when I was cracking on the New Moon soundtrack for not having heartbreaking enough music? Yeah, I stood by that statement until I saw Anya Marina's video for Satellite Heart. I get it now. If you need me I'll be in the fetal position until November 20th when Edward returns.

See, this is my point. Once you all watch the movie and have emotional ties to the music through the film, you will love the soundtrack. And, the Twilight soundtrack was all about falling in love - of course we love it. This soundtrack is about losing EDWARD, so of course it's going to be dark... and sad... and...*runs away, sobbing*

Somewhere around the 2:30 mark it became impossible for me to watch the screen *grabs tissues and crawls into the fetal position*

*scoots over to Spank, catching Rain as she runs past* We'll get through this together. *sobs quietly into their shirts*

That chick has the coolest purple leggings!!!

*throwing balled up tissues at Ginger* You have no soul!

The League's iRob Playlist

Okay, everyone and their mother has done lists of songs that should be on the Twilight soundtrack or on the New Moon soundtrack... But my question is, if Rob Pattinson had a soundtrack, what would be on it? Because, personally, I look at him and hear Closer by NIN. *wicked grin*

This is an obvious choice but any playlist that reminds me of Rob has to include Sex on Fire by Kings of Leon. Do you think is presumptuous of me if I include the Wedding March?

Ok, I'm going to pull one out of the vault and suggest the stalker-ish Queensryche song "Gonna Get Close To You".

(excerpt)

I like to look at shadows sweating on the wall

I get excited when I hear footsteps in the hall

Outside your balcony I have a room with a view
And I'm watching you

I dial your telephone each and every afternoon

I wait by your door till you're asleep at night
And when you're alone I know when you turn out the light

I'm gonna get close to you
Oh-oh so close to you

I'm gonna get close to you

You fumble for your keys

I'm six or seven steps behind you
I'm so close to you

Are you terrified of me?
What do I know about you
How did I find out?

You think I'm a fool or maybe some kind of lunatic
Say I'm wasting my time but I know what to do with it

It's as plain as black and white...
--------------------------------------------

Oh yeah, Rob. Are you afraid? (as if you could out run me).

*laughing* Oh, poor Rob. I'm trying really hard to come up with non-stalker non-sex songs for him, but it's just not working out. I mean, if I'm not thinking about hunting him down and having my way with him then I've got nothin'. So I'm adding:

Let's Get it On - Marvin Gaye

Crash - Gwen Stefani (Sample lyric "Drive back baby to me fast in your car, I'm here waiting CRASH into me real hard.")

The Chemicals Between Us and Mouth - Bush (heh heh, I said "Bush")

Okay, if we're shifting gears to stalker-zone there's always "I will possess your heart" by Death Cab for Cutie.

The best one I can think of is a Dave Matthews song called "Say Goodbye"...

Oh, Spider, that song is perfect and has starred in many a sex day dream of mine!

Now I can't get that song out of my head... "tongues twisting"...yikes! Just thinking of RP and that song puts me in orbit! Bobbybumps....

Anytime, Anyplace...

How about George Michael's I Want Your Sex?

No? Too subtle, huh?

Junior League: Rob Pattinson's Singing

This week's Junior League Member is Jamie Harrington from Totally The Bomb.
Superhero Name: Tub Twitterer
Superpower: Twittering from the tub; reminding people to have a nice day and watch out for the big yellow chicken.

Okay, for those of you like me, who were completely unaware... Our little Edward actually sings that song in the end of the movie where Edward is supposed to be finding the will and not sucking all of Bella's blood out. Apparently, someone that had heard him singing slipped his songs to the director, and she put them in the film without him even knowing.

Here's a link: http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/herocomplex/2008/10/robert-pattin-1.html

What does this tell me? Well, it tells me that he really is Edward! He even plays Bella's Lullaby in the piano scenes! What a stud. He's hot as a human, even hotter as a vampire, but as a vampire that can sing and play an instrument? Hello! Good thing he's in Canada, and I don't have a passport, because, well... I might just have to lick him!

I also included a hottie pic of him in front of a piano :)

Thanks so much for your blog! I am in love with it, I read it all the time!

Rob Pattinson might actually be better than Edward and here's why ... Let's just say, hypothetically speaking, we attacked Rob Pattinson. There's a strong probability that he won't try and kill us. In fact, unlike Edward, Rob will most likely be drunk enough to just relax and enjoy himself, and then when we're done he'll sing us all a lullaby; and if any army sets out to try and destroy us for this it won't be the Volturi but just a bunch of prepubescent girls who we can easily distract with Jonas Brothers trading cards.

Hmm... He IS in Vancouver now, which at least on the same continent as us. If the League were silent for a few days, you know, like if we took a "road trip" I doubt you guys would call and try to warn him mind, right readers? I mean, we'd do a photo slideshow when we got back of the wild debauchery orcas.
Now, I just have to rent a Winnebago and buy a couple of Life-Size Jonas Brothers stand-ups. I'll even get a Zach Efron for good measure.

Oh Spank, LOVE IT! Cracking up at that... RP can rattle and hum in my ear any day! And when I just wrote the word rattle, it reminded me that I could almost (not quite) be his mother! Gross! I should change my super power to: denial of actual age.

Spank, I'm loving your reasoning. Thank you Jamie for the topic and the piano pic. As you might notice, we on The League are quite fond of that pic ourselves. In fact, we used it in our header (with slight alterations courtesy Mr. Ginger). Spider, he might like the fact that you're *almost* old enough to be his mother. Like in The Haunted Airman, the way he is with his "aunt". Rawr. Getting back to the topic at hand, yes, I think that totally adds to his appeal that he is musical and was really playing the piano during the filming. My *source* tells me that he played that piece over and over and over and over for several takes. What I wouldn't give to be the one lying in the chaise that day.

He can tickle my ivories, and anything else he wants to lay his hands on over and over and over again.

The Sound of Twilight

I love this soundtrack, but I have some questions about one or two choices... you?

I too love the soundtrack, except for "Go All The Way" by Perry Farrell. WTF is that? I deleted it off my playlist. (along with Claire de Lune and La Traviata) I'm not dissing Claire de Lune, but it doesn't fit in with the other songs, IMO. I absolutely LOVE Bella's Lullaby and also the Bella's Lullaby Remix, which I don't think is cheesy, no matter what Mr. Ginger says. Also, why didn't they add "15 Step" by Radiohead? I love that song. I bought it on iTunes and added it to my playlist.

Yes, not having 15 Step was a misstep as well as making me buy Let Me Sign on iTunes after I purchased the CD. I mean, couldn't we have just killed 2 (flightless) birds with 1 stone?

Oh, Ginger, I flip past the Perry Farrell song every time too. But I totally kept La Triviata and Claire de Lune. When I hear Claire de Lune I'm no longer driving my mom-car, but am instead sitting beside Edward in his volvo having a calm moment. (Well, not exactly calm. I doubt I could sit next to him without ripping his clothes off.) (Which could explain a song called "Go All The Way" being on the soundtrack... Hmm...)

I had to stop listening to Never Think in my car because I visualize Rob Pattinson's fingers gently stroking the guitar strings and then about 26 seconds into the song it is no longer the guitar strings being stroked and it's really not safe for me to drive at that point.

Ok, Spank, like I'd want to be driving anywhere near you to begin with let alone a distraction like that! Let's just say that Spank has a very passionate foot/pedal relationship!

I cannot STAND the Perry Farrell song either. Mostly because it brings me back to the stupid prom interior shots! Ick! But, lucky for me I have a photographic memory, it's a blessing in these circumstances actually. You see, every time I listen to the soundtrack (all day), I can literally see everything that's going on in the film. Every single gesture and nuance! Which is why I must proclaim that my absolute favorite is "Spotlight" by Mutemath. There are too many delicious memories that swirl around when I hear it! And you superheroes know EXACTLY what I'm talking about per a recent discussion that best not be written on the blog!

For those of you who don't have the photographic memory that Spider is blessed with, she's talking about the part where Edward and Bella get out of his car at school, he's got his shades on and his arm around her and then the song fades into the scene where they are walking together on the cliffs... which obviously reminds Spider of Bella asking Edward more questions about vampires... Edward explains how they were turned by Carlisle... Rain dripping down Edward's face... Good stuff, great memories, ya know?
