Our Superhero Husbands

So ladies, let's talk about what our husbands think about our little Twilightheadedness. I'll start. Mr. Ginger was pretty annoyed when I first got into Twilight. I told him he was my Edward (trying to be all romantic) and he got offended I was comparing him to a fictional character. It turned into this huge fight where I later said I'd never mention Twilight to him again as long as we lived. (yeah right) Though he soon learned that when I'm Twilightheaded, I'm feeling more, uh, romantic. Now he's gone a complete 180 degrees and encourages my Twisession. He doesn't mind how many times I see the movie because he's expecting to reap the, uh, benefits after I get home. (after the kids are in bed, of course) In fact, Mr. Ginger helped design our website, on the condition that his name is not on here and this blog can't be traced back to him in any way. He's like our own personal Alfred around here, knowing our true identities but sworn to secrecy. Mostly because he doesn't want to be associated with Twilight in the real world.

Oh Ginger, that's too funny...These poor guys, the trials and tribulations they've gone through to get to accepting of "THE Twilight". They're saints! My man was very annoyed at first by the fact that every time he'd come into my "cocoon space" he'd see me with a shit ass perma-grin. It was NOT possible to hide. He would say something and I'd just look up at him with "IT" written all over my face, and he'd be all rolling his eyes and squinting in disgust. Often with a remark like; "you've been up here for a long time, are you planning on joining us today?" Thank goodness he loves me enough to accept that there is another "whatever" that now lives with us every day! Thanks hun! :-) Why is there no "shit ass perma-grin" face to insert here?

Mr. Meadow suffered greatly through the 5 stages of Twilight-Widower-Grief (Suspicion, Denial, Anger, More Anger, Complacency.) It started with simple comments like "Didn't you just read that book? Why are you reading it again?" and transitioned to "Are you planning on doing the dishes at any point this lifetime?" After realizing that he was feeling a deep loss of his spouse I managed to hold my tongue and NOT respond with statements like "You have two hands, do the damn dishes yourself!" He is not quite willing to admit that he appreciates the benefits of my Twisession, but believe me, he does. Sometimes he enjoys it more than once in the same evening.

Boy am I glad I bypassed all this. *throws myself on the couch and re-reads Twilight*
