Paging Dr. Cullen...

Carlisle Cullen. This is ONE GREAT MAN. He's second in perfection for me from the film/series. He's hands down my favorite Cullen other than Edward. Let's look at some of the reasons why we love Carlisle so much. And let's not forget the most obvious of all, he's drop dead gorgeous! This dude has serious family planning skills too. Unmatched! How else can you explain the family member choices he's made throughout the years? He has single handedly created The World's Perfect Family (in my book!)

The only problem with having Carlisle Cullen as your doctor is that whenever he enters the room your heart rate would accelerate, your temperature would rise and you might even feel faint -- and that's all before he even asks you to open your mouth and say "ahhhh..."

I liked Carlisle both in the book and the movie, and I admit that he seems H.O.T. but he's got that whole paternal thing going on. I just can't get into the thought of playing doctor with him. Besides, since I'm with Edward in my head it'd be like a creepy reverse Mrs. Robinson thing for me to lust after him. Crap, I said Edward. I was trying not to mention him.

Ok I really really like Carlisle in the book. And I like PF as Carlisle in the movie. He totally WAS Carlisle in that role. But I didn't love the makeup. I can't put my finger on it, but something just wasn't right about it. It just doesn't seem right making an Italian man that pale. Maybe you ladies can tell me... is Carlisle supposed to have an accent? I mean, I know he's originally from England, but is he supposed to have an accent now? I'm talking about the part where he's saying he just examined Buttcrack Santa's body. He says, "Animal Attack". And it sounds so weird. Maybe it's just me and all the double-malt scotch I invariably seem to be drinking whenever I get to that part.

Oh, Ginger, you're overthinking it. I think he's doing that slightly-stilted "I learned English several hundred years before you" thing with his accent. Rob does it too as Edward. Mmm... Edward... Damnit, I did it again.

Ninja you nut!
I loved Peter as Carlisle. Though he was a little pale and I didn't like his hair, he looks much better with the dark. But I am so glad the Catherine decided to pick him.

The make up and the hair-- why? Could Summit not afford hair people?? Hopefully that's one of the things they'll splurge on for New Moon.

I liked ma and pa Cullen in the book, but watching them brought to movie life was great. I'd really like to see more of Peter (still having a hard time shaking Eva/Rebecca from Esme)...
and more of Edward...

I'm with Ginger on the make-up...he was the only one that had the pasty white make-up. What's up with that? But I do love him; he's so cool. I admit there is a paternal thing going on there, so I have trouble thinking of him as hot...like you know who. See, I can do it Meadow...BAHAHAHAHAHA

I think Carlisle’s character is one part that they got right in the movie. PF’s performance was exactly right. He had that calm, fatherly, leadership thing down perfect. The movie had some serious makeup problems. Carlisle was great in the kitchen scene and playing baseball but that first scene in the hospital was bad. That first shot of Edward coming in the cafeteria door was rough too. (And NO I can’t live, write or think about this without Edward being mentioned)
I know this is off the subject but, have any of you listened to the audiobooks? They are very good. They can be downloaded on itunes. Ilyana Kadushin is the reader. She does wonderful voices of Bella and Edward.

I loved Carlisle in the book and I think PF did a WONDERFUL job. He got that paternal thing down pat. Jennie Garth is one lucky woman...he looked good in the movie, but OMG, without the makeup? HELLO! It's almost criminal to cover that man in white and dye his hair blonde.

This is the one character that I felt was exactly right (besides Rob as Edward of course). PF did an awesome job. He mentioned in one of his interviews (on Chelsey Lately) that he hated the blond hair, and that he tried his hardest not to be out in the sun so he didn't have to wear as much makeup. I did think the makeup was a bit much for him. I wonder though if they put more makeup on him because he was 'older' than everyone else...kind of like how the Volturri was described.

But, for me, now he is Carlisle.

FYI...

I just pre-ordered the movie from Target! If you get the movie from Target you also get a digital copy code to where you can download it to iTunes for free! So you can watch it on your computer...or ipod/iphone!

Really, in my perfect world, Rob would have played all the parts. Even Bella.

I agree about the make-up - he was a bit *too* pale - pasty, really. And, I really do hope they do a better job on the makeup in NM - perhaps they could remember to do Edward's ears, so his pink ears do not stand out against his pale, marble-like skin...

I really love Peter Facinelli as Carlisle because he seems way into the role. He was not originally chosen for the part, and gave Catherine H. a book he had found on Vampires that he thought would be useful.

Twilightmoms.com has an interview with him in which someone asks whether his eldest daughter is Team Edward or Team Jacob to which he responds, "She better be Team Edward, we're Cullens!" Awesome.

I think he's really excited about this role and takes it seriously... unlike some people. COUGH!

I agree with all your comments re: the makeup. I do hope that they get that together in New Moon

@Leo's Mom: I have the audiobooks too. All of them! I love Yleana Kadushin (sp??) too. She's a great narrator.
