Edward is Too Gentlemanly

Okay girls, we all know that Bella and Edward had a rough start, filled with misunderstandings, drama, and lust. I don't know what it was like for any of you, but when Mr. Meadow and I were "getting to know one another" not every question we asked was about our favorite colors. If you know what I mean. No matter HOW "Edwardian" (ha ha) he was, I wish we'd have gotten to hear something non-chaste from him. Because really, we know it wasn't just her blood that he craved.

**insert picture here that makes me want to throw myself at the screen in a very un-mom-like way**
You know he was thinking this: "So, Bella... How do you feel about any cold, wet thing now?"

Can I get back to you on this? I am too busy thinking about those raindrops... really, I'm just thinking about being one of those raindrops.... It's almost impossible to stop.

He came oh so close in Eclipse, uh, page 619 when he said, "Why?" he asked again, his voice low and rough. "I love you. I want you. Right now." So close. Yet never really satisfying us, huh? And where, by the way is this adult version of Breaking Dawn that was 600 pages and Stephenie wrote for her sister? Why can't we see THAT version? I'd pay good money to see Edward talk dirty.

Tell me about it! Maybe we should start a petition to go around with "Save Midnight Sun." What she wrote has to be better than the fanfic stuff. (Not that I, you know, read fanfics...) Ahem.

EVERY time I see this shot of those raindrops my body shivers! And there is only one word that comes to mind FRENZY!! Ginger, thanks for the page reminder, I'll have to double check it just to make sure you wrote the correct one done, yep, it's accurate and I'm sighing!

"Give us Forever Dawn, Stephenie!"

I'll have to actually READ the Blog later! I begged my mom to get off the comp JUST so I could be first. Yes, I'm determined.

As a full fledged adult, I too would like to read a more adult version. There are several parts of Eclipse that I have read(re-read), um, several times.

*rain trickles down edward's face* "when we taste blood....human blood, it's like a frenzy begins..."

oh hell yes a frenzy has begun edward!!! omg he looked decidedly delectable in this shot!! wow!

ahem, back to the question.. where the hell is the honeymoon scene, detail by detail!! i was so upset she didn't write it! i had been waiting 3 whole books to read about their 1st time and then i get a fade to black!!! what a cruel woman!!!

dying to know exactly what caused edward to rip a pillow or two!! *SQUEALS*

Oh, ladies. You didn't talk about the best movie scene of them all! I like rain drops, but I'm partial to the Edward scene in the credits where the camera pans Robtastic's body as he's laying in the meadow. I'd pay good money to keep that camera panning...and me panting.

Hm, I could start work on the adult version of Twilight. Do you want from Bella or Edwards view? Oh, stupid question, of course Ed!

Meadow, just to let you know, I'm one of those people that writes fanfics, and is actually good at it.

Not to brag (too much), but....someone once read some of my fanfic stuff and they told me they thought Stephanie wrote it.
I'm not saying I feel that way, but.....

It'll be coming, check my Blog: http://ninjafanpire.blogspot.com/

I would pay good money to read the adult version as well

IF I had the bootleg copy of the movie (**ahem**)...I would rewind over and over the scene in the restaurant where he says "sex..." twice. If I had the bootleg copy. ;)

Ninja Fanpire said...

Meyer had a way of building up the plot and then having nothing come of it. No sex, no battles. What's up with that?

RacheLyn said...

@HappyHourSue I know exactly what you mean about the bootleg copy ;). I would also rewind that scene over and over again...if only we had a bootleg copy! :) I was also sad that there was no real honeymoon scene. Stephenie should have humored us adult readers and put something in rather than fade to black. I definitely had to put my imagination to good use during those honeymoon scenes!

Speaking of scenes, in New Moon, have any of you thought about the fact that the entire time they were in Volterra, Edward had no shirt on? OMG, please let that be in the movie.

tynie626 said...

@Leo's Mom omg that scene is gonna be one of the best in the movie! when i was reading i couldn't take my eyes off the page,i was actually breathing harder, the suspense was killing me!!!

i cannot wait for new moon!!

It took me ahile to get my train of thought together after the pic.

Ok -So I am all for the adult version. I too was disappointed although it got my imagination into overdrive, which was not a bad thing ;). To be fare this is a teen oriented book. Having said that I like some of you would like to get my hands on forever dawn.

I almost forgot in Twilight they do have an ahem adult conversation about sex. He never says it, but you know what he’s getting at.

In addition, another thing the book had was much better kissing scenes not that the one in the movie wasn't totally hot (would have been hotter if he was kissing me granted). I would have liked to see it more like it was in the book - more hot lip action please.

Oh, sweet glory...I would pay large amounts of money for an "adult version" of Breaking Dawn...the whole time I was reading it I was like "Please, Stephenie...give us MORE!" Page 619...Eclipse...good stuff. Why does he do the things he does to me? Wow...back to work and reality...reality sucks.

Everyone on here makes my day...and is very entertaining! Y'all make me feel normal (that I'm not the only one completely obsessed with this saga!)

Seeing as how I am and adult, I understand (slightly) why she didn't include all of the wonderful details in the book since it was geared toward 'young adults'. I also wonder if religion played into what she put in the books. And of course, we couldn't compromise Edward's 'virtue'! :)

However, I would love to read it! I too would pay very good money for both Midnight Sun and Forever Dawn! I wonder how we could ever get Stephenie Meyer to finish them.

Any why did she 'fade to black' on the honeymoon scene...I had to stop reading for a little bit as my imagination started running wild (sorry...I just couldn't help myself!)

I think in the scene where he stays with her for the first night it is obvious as well, that he is torn with 'what to do'.

tynie626 said...

@Erin yea the fade to black was just torturous!! i wanted to know what happened!! the honeymoon was already so romantic, i was actually tearing up, but then it just faded to black, i was so disappointed!!

Erin said...

@tynie626 I completely understand...

Sadly, now I'm thinking about the honeymoon scene again!

tynie626 said...

@Erin hahaha so am i!! omg the moonlight and the water and the island and everything!! it was so perfect!! *swoon*

Val said...

I'm with you jennykate77, big money would be handed over for that version most def.
That picture is too die for, I would take that cold wet thing any day!
I agree with Valarielea, you all are such a bad influence, but as you can see I don't care I keep coming back for more!

I'm also all for the adult version of ALL of the Twilight books. I mean, I am no teenager, I can certainly deal with more than just this PG-13 stuff. GIVE ME NC-17!! *wipes sweat off forehead and pulls hair back in a ponytail* Well, maybe not NC-17, but at least R. Maybe if Stephanie finishes Midnight Sun, we'll get to hear those forbidden thoughts that Edward never says out loud. Hmm, we can only hope.

That honeymoon scene put pictures in my head that lasted for days. The island, the moonlight, and Edward standing in the water (all natural) sigh. Crap, crap, crap, holy crow I did it again. There goes my day!

tynie626 said...

@Leo's Mom as soon as i realized that Edward was naked i was grinning like a schoolgirl. i said to myself "FINALLY SOME ACTION!!" ugh edward is just downright sexy. he just oozes sex appeal

chemistry said...

@tynie626 OMG - I was doing the same thing. lol

I am actually in the middle of reading Breaking Dawn for a second time, and totally agree that we need an 'adult' version...I find myself stopping for a few minutes to imagine what she left out, then a few more to compose myself and read on!

tynie626 said...

@chemistry it was seriously involuntary, and what made it worse, i was on the subway!! imagine me, grinning like an idiot and everyone staring at me like i'm insane! it's already bad i smile at people in public whenever i see them reading one of the books. i want so badly to strike up a convo with them, but that would be too creepy

chemistry said...

@tynie626 I know exactly what you mean. That is so something I would actually do.

Well I have to say that after reading The Host, which is supposedly her "adult" novel, there isn't much more steam in that....in fact....there isn't ANY more steam in that than in any of the Twilight books. I certainly want to read Forever Dawn, so I'll join your petition, but I have a feeling the love scenes are pretty tame.

Yes, I'm here to smack that bitch(Bella Swan) up!
Where does the line start?
I would also like to get in the Smack Kstew line.
