Sultry Bloody Sunday: Eric Scotchguard

We here at Twilight-Headed would like to prove that we do not discriminate. We do not have one-track minds. We can appreciate beauty in many forms.

Therefore, we are expanding our new Sultry Sunday Series into Sultry Bloody Sunday. Each Sunday we will feature any gorgeous guy of the blood-drinking variety, not just ones that sparkle.

For our first non-sparkling vampire, we're heading south to Louisiana...

Oh my, my, my, what a delightful distraction our Mr. Eric Northman has been since the premiere of Twilight. Yowzer. Eric Northman/Alexander Skarsgard is everything from hot, demanding, sexual, authourative, mean, sexual, striking, nasty, sexual, evil, menacing, sexual, triumphant, cocky, sexual.... you get my drift, right?

You forgot sexual.

Uhhh... Team Eric!

Edward, who?

Pixie Hollow Edward

Much of the new Twilight merchandise was featured at Comic-Con this week, but what caught my eye was an Edward doll made by Tonner. I decided to do a bit more "research" on this doll to see if, unlike the original Pocket Edward, this Edward could shed his jacket... you know, in case he got hot. I found this and am pretty much speechless...

When I saw this "doll", I almost fell over. Who the hell thought that was a good idea? What friggin' clown gave the final approval of that stupid thing and put it into production? Let me guess... did C.Hardwicke go into a new business? And Rain, did you say it's retailing for $139??? They should put GPS systems inside these things because whoever actually buys one should be shot locked up.

I just want to know why his pants are pulled up so high? They look like Grandpa pants. And what's up with that hair?

Are you sure this isn't GI Joe's doll for their line of "don't ask, don't tell" action figures.

Are you sure this is supposed to be Edward? Cause it looks more like Eric to me.

PLEASE tell me you mean Eric Yorkie and not Eric Northman.

If it looked anything like Eric Northman, I would've taken it home and put him in my nightstand drawer. Oh yeah.

Comic-Con 2009

Would it have killed Kristen to smile in any of those pics?

I have to get this off my chest: What bugs me about KStew is that she never seems "real." Rob & Taylor let their guard down all the time. They actually answer questions while she gives only offhand comments like, "I cut my hair off." Are we really to believe that the ONLY change Kristen has gone through after the experience of being Bella is her hair? She just comes off as such a little bitch sometimes.

Okay, wait! I would have answered the question the same way. What could she have said? I broke up with my boyfriend this year. I'm dating the hottest guy on the planet right now. The sex with Rob is great! Oh, and I can eat all the cookies I want and not gain weight.

Bitch.

Spank and Ginger, you are obviously blinded by your girl-crush on Kristen, so your words mean nothing to me.

Girl crush or not, cut her some slack. I mean, first of all she and Rob look like they had a very late night ifuknowhatimean. And she is wearing the same shirt she had on the day before which means she is obviously not only wearing Rob's shirts but also taking wardrobe/hygiene tips from her man.

Crap, she's wearing a minor threat tee. That either makes me like her more if she knows who they actually are, or makes me detest her more if she's just wearing the tee because she thought it was cool.

And, I think it is so endearing that Taylor wants to live up to the expectations of Team Jacob.

Given that the expectations for are pretty low for a losing team, I'd say he shouldn't have much of a problem.

Ok, the whole thing looked so awkward. And seriously, I'm FED UP seeing Rob running his hands through his hair. I honestly think that the ONLY evidence that Robsten does exist is that they both do/did the same thing over and over again. Puleeze. It was sad to see that it looked like they didn't want to be there - that is just my take. Poof!

You wouldn't want to be there either if you were up all night practicing the honeymoon scene in Isle Esme. Anyone notice the bruises on Kristen's arm? Makes me wonder if there are any feathers randomly floating around their hotel room.

Hey guys, the Thirsty Elephant here. I'm The League's mascot. I'm at Comic-Con right now and here to give you my scoop.

During the non-televised panel, Summit was sure to not seat Kristen next to Rob. It was Ashley, Kristen, Taylor, Rob and Chris (Weitz). Rob & Kristen didn't talk to each other during the entire panel discussion. They both seemed hyper aware that people were watching them. Actually everyone seemed fidgety except for Taylor. Also, everyone seemed noticeably well-rested, EXCEPT Rob & Kristen who looked EXHAUSTED. Rob was extremely nervous. Kept running his hands through his hair. Kept stammering while answering questions.

One question asked: "Rob, are you planning on doing any open mics like you used to?"
Rob: "To be honest with you I'm a pussy."

They showed us two New Moon clips:

1. Jacob was showing Bella how to ride a bike. She revved it up and saw Edward in her mind. She drove off and crashed the bike. Jacob ran over and she was bleeding in the head. He then took off his shirt (a bit cheesy) and wiped the blood off her head with his shirt. She looked up at him and said, "You're so beautiful".

2. Showed Alice and Bella in Italy, in the yellow Porche. Then showed Bella running through the square toward Edward. Edward is shirtless and about to step into the light. Bella yells....

Thank you Thirsty Elephant! You're the only best damn mascot we've ever had!!!

Fan of the Fan-Made Trailer

We all saw the trailer for New Moon on MTV Movie Awards and it was good. But then I saw this fan-made trailer and I realized that it takes a real fan to know how to elicit tears, chills and excitement in 2 minutes.

Amazing! This makes me even more excited to see the movie than the original trailer. Maybe they should ask the fan who made this to direct Eclipse?

Ok, this is AWESOME. How in the WORLD am I going to see this movie alone like I did Twilight? Hey Summit, this is how it's done, dopes!

That video was awesome, David_A_Slade! Nice job trying to upstage Chris Weitz before New Moon is even out. Oh... was I not supposed to say that?

Jr. League: Addictive Authors

This weeks Jr. League member is: Loveluster

Superpowers: love for mythical creatures; lust for those lucky enough to be surrounded by said mythical creatures.

Though we all know that Twilight is, and always will be, one of the greatest phenomenons to ever exist. I was wondering if you all here at The League are open to any other new and upcoming books? Though there will never be a book or saga or tale that could ever be as exciting, touching, or addicting as Twilight--in my opinion-- do you think there could ever be one that comes close to it? One that can also be addicting in its own way, that can stand beside Stephenie Meyer's greatest work?

If you haven't read the Mortal Instruments trilogy, I'd say go out and get them now! The writing is better than Stephenie Meyer's, I loved the main girl much better than Bella, and the guy is totally swoon-worthy. In fact, when I was reading it, I briefly considered quitting The League and starting a Mortal Instruments blog. *ducking*

Ginger is right about Mortal Instruments! You'll have to take me with you if you start a blog! We can continue our discussion over the said "swoon-worthy" guy. Ginger, please just accept the fact that he's mine. MINE!

Also - The Hunger Games. This book sucked me in quickly and I stayed up until the wee hours because I HAD TO FINISH. And then I read it again. They're making it into a movie (which I've already started casting in my head). The best part about this is that the book's author is also writing the screenplay, so Melissa Rosenberg will not be able to screw it all up.

I just finished reading the Sookie Stackhouse series and I think they are a fantastic read. It reminded me what always bothered me about the Twilight Series. Stephenie Meyer created a wonderful and magical world that I obviously cannot get enough of but it is quite like a fairytale - the good guys win, the bad guys die and they all live happily ever after. With Sookie there is tangible loss and pain but also triumph. A metaphor for life in a supernatural world, perhaps? I got the same vibe from the Harry Potter books which I also deeply loved.

A completely different genre "series" I loved were the historical fiction novels based on the life and loves of King Henry VIII by Philippa Gregory. They are full of intrique, deception, lust, love and loss.

Hold it, hold it, hold it! There are other books out there?

Fade To Black

Jacob gets a hard time from the Twifans, especially from yours truly. But objectively he got a raw deal. Jacob really loved Bella and his emotions were used as a punching bag by Bella, who used him to the extent her needs for him warranted. So while we spend so much time declaring teams we overlook the fact that while Edward and Bella were playing their sexual chess match, Jacob was her pawn.

No No NO! I kind of felt for Jacob until, in Eclipse, he threatened to go and end his life in the fight in order to manipulate Bella into kissing him. That moment right there ended all my good feelings toward him. I may have actually thrown my book across the room. Maybe. Okay, I did throw my book. At an imaginary Jacob.

Yeah, I actually liked Jacob, until I had to read several chapters from his point of view, and then I was just annoyed. I think Stephenie Meyer put them in for filler. FILLER.

I loved Jacob and only began to dislike him when Edward came back into the picture (end of New Moon) and he started calling my man names in Eclipse. Nobody calls my man names! I know the old addage "sticks and stones"... blah, but he was just over the top obnoxious on the beach walks with Bella that he drove me nuts. I was also pissed that Bella kept accepting him saying stuff like, "ok, I won't say that again."

I forgave Jacob for awhile in Breaking Dawn for leaving his pack and protecting the Cullens and felt bad for him UNTIL the imprint. Then I was disgusted. I know it's this whole natural thing, but it's friggin gross man, gross. I wish Stephenie Meyer had faded "to black" the imprinting!

Best of Both Worlds

You know every once in a while Batman would show up on Scooby Doo? Well, what if the Cullens went to Shreveport, Louisiana and gave the Area 5 Sheriff a run for his money? Think about it - they can come out of the coffin and live in the open, sparkle happily in the sunshine leaving the gloomy pacific northwest behind them and render The Volturi useless. Also they can enjoy True Blood which will not only save the Bambi's of the world but will allow them the pleasure of nibbling on willing humans...

You are my hero Spank. This is BRILLIANT, just freakin' brilliant. And lest not forget that Eric and Bill can show our little Edward some nasty little things to do with sweet Bella. Oh yeah, that little cottage in the woods would be nothing but stone dust! Bring it. Let's start a collection!! We can name it True Twilight!

Can Spike join in?

Ginger, if Spike comes, then next thing you know Angel will want to come. Then Lestat de Lioncourt will show up. It will be a town filled with sexy vampires!

Wait, actually that sounds perfect! But how to keep out the dogs?

Gah! Tall Dark and Brooding Angel is NOT invited.
